Unicorn Dating is operated by Data Informatics Pty Ltd, an Australian company. We take privacy seriously, particularly given the sensitive nature of dating and personal information.
What we collect
- Account information from your sign-in provider (Apple ID or Google Account email and unique identifier).
- Profile information you provide: photos, bio, gender, pronouns, orientation, interests, location.
- Verification information: selfie and government-issued ID, processed by our verification provider. We do not store the raw documents.
- Usage information: matches, messages, blocks, reports.
How we use it
- To match you with compatible profiles based on your filters and theirs.
- To verify that you are 18+ and a real person.
- To moderate content for safety and legal compliance.
- To prevent fraud, harassment, and abuse.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Ever.
- We do not show third-party advertising in the app.
- We do not share information about your relationships, identity, or interests with anyone outside Unicorn Dating except as required by Australian law.
Sensitive information
Information about sexual orientation, gender identity, and sexual practices is classed as sensitive information under the Australian Privacy Principles. We collect it only with your explicit consent at signup, store it encrypted, and use it only for matching and safety.
Your rights
- Access, correct, or delete your account at any time from in-app settings.
- Account deletion permanently removes your profile and photos within 30 days.
- Audit logs may be retained for legal compliance.
